there's a sign on top left which locks it probably in the position of that page, so it isn't anchored in the text.
That's not a lock, it signifies the placed image is linked.
To anchor the frame, you can either cut/paste as I described earlier, or, select the image (frame) with the Select tool (black arrow), then drag the little blue square into the text:

Happy Dance time :-) Thanks! Not hard, just have to know the steps...
Re: Use line tool or underline??
And just one reason for using Styles, say you've got a 500 page book with certain words underlined throughout. The customer decides s/he doesn't like them as 1pt underlines and wants them as 2 pt underlines and in a color. How long would that take to change? With a Character Style it would take seconds to change the whole book!

wow this is miraculous (as all what one doesn't understand). Thanks so much. I think that should do it. I really looked everywhere and found nowhere the response needed. So your help is highly appreciated!!! Great!
Re: Use line tool or underline??
In this case, create the underline style and apply it to the tab, or set the tab leader to underline.

Interactive PDF button not working from imported InDesign file
I've scoured the web and these forums looking for someone else with a similar problem in hopes of finding a solution to this.
I'm using the latest versions of InDesign CC and Acrobat Pro DC on macOS 10.14.4.
I have two InDesign documents—DocumentA.indd (a booklet, one of hundreds like it) and DocumentB.indd (a couple of reused pages common to all booklets). Each document contains an interactive button linking to a destination URL with a simple rollover state change (background color).
I can export each of these documents to an interactive PDF and everything looks and functions as expected.
The problem arises when I import DocumentB into DocumentA and export that as one final PDF for distribution. The interactive buttons that are in DocumentA work fine as before, but the buttons in DocumentB no longer work—no rollover appearance change and no link functionality.
Alternatively, setting them up as hyperlinks instead of buttons yields the same results. The hyperlinks in the imported file do not make it through to the exported PDF. It appears the import process strips out the interactive content, or at least InDesign doesn't see that particular content to export it correctly.
Yes, I know I can export each document as a separate PDF and then combine them in Acrobat—I've tested that and it works, with all interaction preserved—but for the quantity of projects involved here it's just not feasible. Ultimately I need to be able to create an InDesign template for all future iterations of DocumentA, all containing those same few DocumentB pages.
Is this a bug, or do I need to change some setting somewhere to allow/enable interactive buttons in imported InDesign documents?

Re: Datenzusammenführung und ausfüllbare Formularfelder
Hallo Tobias,

Uwe
Re: Use line tool or underline??
Has anybody every seen the spaces between lines in the final printed output? I have already.
Re: Interactive PDF button not working from imported InDesign file
When you place an InDesign document into another InDesign document, it behaves like an image.
Instead, have you considered making a Book and adding the two separate documents together in the Book file?
Re: White Lines Showing Up on Print
Thank you, Bob Levine. I had this issue today. This tip worked well.
Auto-reset my setting & Expand Pages.
Hi:
This's Ansel and I meet some strange issue while using Indesign.
1. My Indesign will reset the setting every time while I open my Indesign. I Google, people ask how to reset and my Indesign reset every time automatically. wth?
2. Would you mind help me out about how to expand pages? I am working on 11*17 typography in InDesign and I'd like to add A4 (8.5*11) with the 11*17 page with seamless. When I try to use the Page Tool, the system automatically gets back to the original size no matter how many time and how long I try to expand the 11*17 page.
Best!!
Ansel
Re: Use line tool or underline??
I have not seen in a high-resolution project. I'm guessing that it might not be rendered perfectly on some low-resolution printers using their own printer drivers.

If you are using the underscore glyph as a fill character in a tab, you could get spaces between if you have applied tracking or kerning. The bottom image has a tracking setting of 10, while the top one has none.
Maybe not the cause of your issue, but a possibility.
Re: Use line tool or underline??
Ok, your answers make perfect sense. It could be that the problem with the gapped lines in the final output was indeed a tracking issue.
So am I right that it would just simply be a matter of preference as to how the lines get created—whether by the underline key or using the line tool?
Thanks so much to all of you for your input!
Re: Use line tool or underline??
If you draw the lines with the line tool and then you have to edit the text, you will then have to move all of the lines to a new position.
If you use a right-align tab with an underline as a leader and you edit the text, the lines will move with the text.
