Table of Contents leaders and tabs not working at all.
I have all my paragraph styles set up, they show up at least in the TOC. I have them set to right justify and a "." in the leader box. But they never show up in the TOC. I have every paragraph style...

How are you making/exporting the PDF? What are you previewing the PDF in? In Acrobat, zoomed in to 1600%, this is what I see using an Export to PDF (Print) profile. Take care, Mike
View ArticleRe: How do I fix pixelated table dots?
I'm just going to the File -> Export option and it previews in Acrobat. Here's what mine looks like at 1600%.

Try printing a page and perhaps looking at it with a loop or at least a decent magnifying glass. It may just be how Acrobat is displaying such a small entity on your screen. Oh...go to Acrobat's...

I think you uneed to actually set a tab stop to get a leader. It looks to me like you'd rather use some fixed width space, like an em space (or erhaps two em spaces). You can add a custom underline to...

Yeah, all those preferences are checked off. I don't get why it would only do the dots like that. Everything else in the whole entire document is crisp. All the lines, even all the images.
View ArticleRe: How do I fix pixelated table dots?
You might want to try smoothing line art. Without smoothing Acrobat has no option but to show jagged curves.

Have you tried printing? Can you share a sample document with a table? In fact, does this happen with a new document and/or has this always happened or is it recent? Mike
View ArticleRe: Table of Contents leaders and tabs not working at all.
You're right, I had to go in and do it manually. For anyone else who has this problem. Just highlight your TOC and go to Type -> Tabs. Set your leader there and move your tab to where you want it.

I will try printing. It'll be a bit, I'll post back up when I've tried it. I have smoothing line art checked as well.
View ArticleRe: How do I fix pixelated table dots?
You have Enhance thin lines presently checked. Try unchecking it with the document open and clicking OK. Take care, Mike
View ArticleRe: How do I fix pixelated table dots?
What's weird is it's only doing that with dots when I insert a table. The table of contents I just fixed has the dots looking perfectly, while the table dots are still pixelated.
View ArticleRe: How do I fix pixelated table dots?
Hey, Mike, that was it! Had to uncheck Enhance Thin Lines. Thanks.

Great--sorry I wasn't as clear as I ought to have been in post #3. Could have saved you a bit of time! Mike

Thanks Katernya for the very useful info! Indeed i manage to delete the stroke. Now how can i delete the Footnote symbols or the # special character remaing at the end of the text? As you can see in...
View ArticleRe: How would you create a type book?
So no one has any ideas? How should I prepare a 3000 font, type specimen book, 400MB file size limit, 491 pages, created in InDesign CS6?
View ArticleRe: Delete Footnotes Separator
The # sign is indicating an "end of story". You can see it because you have Type/Show Hidden Characters. If you choose Hide Hidden Characters you won't see them. Not sure what you mean with "cannot...
View ArticleRe: How would you create a type book?
Yeah. Have a different service bureau print the specimen book. Really. Use an Offset printer. They will make film, the output will be far superior to a digital press. Mike
View ArticleRe: How would you create a type book?
Unfortunately, the premise of this book along with another 300 pages, is working with print on demand printers, specifically with CreateSpace, so using CreateSpace is kind of important . . . kind of...
View ArticleRe: How would you create a type book?
Well, new info is just that, new info. I doubt you will have other responders that have attempted the same thing using CS. I know I have done quite large books with them, even with a lot of vector...
