Try printing a page and perhaps looking at it with a loop or at least a decent magnifying glass. It may just be how Acrobat is displaying such a small entity on your screen.
Oh...go to Acrobat's preferences and uncheck "Enhance Thin Lines" and see if that fixes the display. I did that so long ago I forgot to suggest it.
