The export settings should be OK, but images from powerpoint may not have adequate resolution and nothing you do in Illustrator or ID is going to improve that. You'll need to judge from the sample print.

I see nothing at all useful in the crash report. I'd suggest trying a new user account, and trying after booting into Safe Mode (hold down the Shift key while starting up the Mac).
