Okay, thanks for the reassurance. I would not be rescaling at all - the page size change would only move where the edge is, using the bleed as part of the actual page on the inside edges (we learned that the booklet will be perfect-bound instead of saddle-stitch).

just tested the cloud service to convert InDesign documents from CC 2019 to CC 2014 on my Windows 10 machine.
All worked as expected. From my German InDesign CC 2014 version 10.2.0.69 :
After pressing button "Konvertieren" ( Convert ) the process began:
And also finished successfully.
Your screenshot in reply 8 suggests that you are not signed in to Creative Cloud.
That is a reason why the conversion process cannot happen.

I don't think there was an issue at all. :-)
Sometimes InDesign needs its time to export to IDML. Depending on the complexness of the document and the machine specs you simply have to be patient. I understand that Balázs now waited long enough and now all is working as expected.

Thanks so much for sharing the information. I would request if you can try booting the system in Safe Mode: Start in Safe Boot mode for Adobe products on Mac OS X and let us know if that helps.

Now its going to be really annoying.
After some weeks where it was working well on the local user account with admin rights it stopped working there as well as in the domain joined account.
So far this seems there is no correlation between account type and crashes its just something wrong inside the startup scripts in indesign.

You are right Uwe. I agree that the performance of the application depends upon the complexity of the document and the machine specs.
I was just trying to confirm if there is any third party service which is conflicting or making the process slow.

Indesign to PDF Erorrs: how to find the bad page that is stopping the process?
I have a 700 page InDesign file that I want to export to PDF. When I do so, the process begins and then returns with an error that the process could not be finished. How can I figure out which page is the bad seed? I don't want to go through exporting page by page until I find it (or them, probably more than one page is bad). It's a simple layout, letter, one placed PDF or JPEG per page, 95% of images are text PDF's. Isn't there a log of some type to check?

Re: EasyCatalog REGEX issues
Hi Jose,
When using EasyCatalog cleansing options, you have to remember when you are using "=", its the point where you are saying I want something changed to something else.
eg. green=red
In this instance, the cleansing option in EasyCatalog would change the word green to red anywhere in the data.
What if the data had green=cool as text and you wanted to change that to just say red?
green=cool=red will not work.
So Easycatalog wants you to use "==" so it knows where something is been changed to something else.
green==cool=red will work.
Now to your problem if you haven't guessed at all....
REGEX:X(?=\d)= x ; should be REGEX:X(?==\d)= x ;

Export half the document. If it works, export the other half. Keep breaking it down until you find the bad page.

What would be a really cool option would be to be able to apply TOC page ranges based on Master Pages. I.E. anything with master page "Chapter 1" is tallied to produce "<Master Page Name>.......<page range>.
That would be cool!

Indesign file printing in grayscale
So we've updated our equipment and moved to the Adobe CC programs. Everything is fine other than when I try to print anything out of Indesign, the copy is grayscale instead of in color. The print dialogue all looks normal for it to print color and when I export a .pdf it is in color and will print in color from Illustrator or Photoshop. What gives on Indesign files? If it's useful, the printer is a Konica Minolta bizhub C554.

Is the stripe under the paragraph or is it under some words within a paragraph? If the rule is under an entire paragraph then use the Paragraph Rules dialog (accessed through the Paragraph Panel Pull-Down Menu). If "Rule On" is checked then the stripe is a paragraph rule and can have its offset, indent, line weight and other available attributes changed through there. Note that the "Rule Below" as seen in the upper left of the picture below is a pull-down menu that toggles with "Rule Above" (for when you want a rule above a paragraph).
If the stripe is under just some words within a paragraph then you can select the word(s) that is(are) underlined and turn it off through the Underline option in the Character Panel pull-down. You can apply an underline to other selected type with the same option. If you want to customize the underline then choose the "Underline Options..." entry in this same pull-down menu.
