I meant it's ridiculous to suggest that forcing the output to SWOP, especially without knowing anything about the output requirements, would be a good idea, let alone that this is a "fix" for the problem.
Re: Color lost when exporting to PDF
Re: Slow performance on large file
no links and images are placed not pasted or embedded.
Re: Slow performance on large file
If images are placed, they MUST BE either linked or embedded after placing. Since embedding is a deliberate action, more likely everything is linked, so the question remains, where are the original images stored? On your local hard drive, or a network location of some sort?
Have you tried cleaning out the garbage that builds up in a file by doing a Save As or an export to IDML (see Remove minor corruption by exporting)?
Re: Color lost when exporting to PDF
Yes, the post is misleading, but I realized after reading, it wouldn't be impossible for the problem to be with AcrobatPro's preview setup. Converting to CMYK would accidentally "fix" the preview.
Re: Color lost when exporting to PDF
I don't consider that a fix.
Re: Slow performance on large file
yes all of that and links are local but I'll try embed now (although that may be impossible as all I get is a spinning well of death!!)
Re: Color lost when exporting to PDF
Right, Gwen should check that the output preview Show popup is set to All.
Re: Color lost when exporting to PDF
or check the PDF in Reader
Re: Slow performance on large file
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For goodness sake don't embed. That will make things worse.

Re: Getting back workspace without reseting it?
My suggestion is to set up your workspace just the way you like it. Once you are satisfied, save the workspace (Window > Workspace > New Workspace) using a short, descriptive name: could be your name, or a job name, or whatever makes sense. Custom workspaces appear at the top of the list.
When you realize later that the workspace wasn't quite right, adjust the panel display and use the New Workspace command again. You can pick the old name from the list to easily update it.
Once you get it right, you can just reset the workspace whenever you need to. I'm not clear what you mean by "After closing my workspace"—I switch from workspace to workspace as I move from job to job, but one is always loaded. You can't actually close a workspace, though you can close panels that are controlled by the workspace. On that note, it's worth a reminder that a workspace mostly controls the panel displays: the Tools panel at the left, the Control panel at the top, and the other panels on the far right. If you change the menus (I sometimes add highlighting to commands I want my audience to see prominently), that can be included as well.
Re: Slow performance on large file
You write about 60 masters.
Are they independent of each others or are they in a parent-child relationshop, which would save a lot of performance.
Re: hello everyone
This is not a technical forum. You've somehow landed in the forum Lounge.
Most documents are either letter or legal size. There are exceptions of course, but that's the size most people use for printing. PDF is mainly a print document.
When you say your document is very, very, very long... just how big is it?

Re: hello everyone
Give us more details:
- How large is your spread and your page?
- How do you create your PDF?
- Did you consider to scale the document?
- What ID version are you using?
Re: hello everyone
Did you try View > Fit Spread in Window?
Re: Index – Add All in a name list ---> InDesign CC
Hi Marcelo,
The behavior of my script is totally normal, based on a grep code that basically just inverts first name and last name!
If you want more as Leonardo da Vinci, you need more complex codes! … But it would cost you much more!
In any case, it was quite doable!!

Re: hello everyone

Re: hello everyone
