It would probaly be worth trashing your InDesign preferences:
Close and relaunch InDesign, and IMMEDIATELY hold down Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or Cmd + Ctrl + Opt + Shift (Mac), and respond in the affirmative to the dialog asking if you really want to replace the preferences. You must be extremely fast on the keyboard (if you don’t see the confirmation prompt, you were too slow).
You may need to do this a couple of times before getting the hang of it!

I got the window to show up. I click on the yes. But the cursor never becomes an arrow. It stays as hour glass. How do I know if it actually worked? I tried the place function again and it still doesn't work.
No matter what I do, InDesign CC 2015 will never successfully open up. It gets to the point in the loading popup where it says "Starting up trackers..." every time, but then "stops working." I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and using the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, but it won't ever open. Illustrator works just fine, though. When I checked the Event Viewer, I got this:

This is a Java issue. Just uninstall whatever version of Java you have installed on your system and than install one provided by Apple here: Download Java for OS X 2015-001
If I close a workspace can I get it back without having to reset it?
By workspace I mean the group of panels that comes up on the right side.
I make modifications to it by adding panels that I like. But then if I close it, I can't find any way to get it back. I saved the workspace, and when I go to "Window ; workspace " the name of my workspace is still there. Even there is still a check box by it (but the workspace is still gone) . I select another workspace and select my workspace again, still won't appear. The only way I found to get it back is to go down to "window ; reset workspace" . Now it comes back but all my saved panels are gone.
After closing my workspace, any way to get it back without resetting it?

Hello everyone.
Is it possible to create a indesign document that I can give a user choices and each choice has a check box but, that check box can have a value assigned to it?
I want to give a user the ability to go through the document select their options and at the end, base on their selected check boxes a total value is created. I know how to create something like this in excel but I'm looking to make something that looks a bit more graphic and nice. In more simple terms I know I can create a document with check boxes etc. But, what I don't know is if I can assign a value to that check box and then have it total up it at the end. Is there a plugin or script?
Please let me know. All suggestion are welcome.

When you upgrade the system you must budget for all new apps. Especially on Mac but more and more on Windows. This can make free upgrades very expensive. Current InDesign is subscription only and includes upgrades, a necessity with systems changing faster than ever. Never cameras and monitors also need upgrades.
To opt out freeze everything and disconnect from the Internet (I like this option). You cannot reliably decide to upgrade just parts.

Did you convert text to outlines?
Do you open the PDF in A robat or in another application?
When you export to pdf, have you change the setting of output color, See the image.
Change it to below setting.
This is the problem that what you have missing it to do in export pdf setting. The Frame that you have applied in masterpage will export it but in the pages of color will not be exported to PDF. So try to change the output color setting.

I am working on a large file for a publication - 200+ pages with 60 masters in Indesigncc and suddenly everything has slowed down to an almost stand still!! I am waiting 15minutes to perform one change and it is driving me insane.
I have turned off preflight, reset preferences and all the other things I have read up to try and improve speed but none have worked. Please help as I am going to throw my laptop out of the window shortly!!!
What operating system? Exactly what version of InDesign CC?

More unlikely than ridiculous. AcrobatPro's Output Preview lets you filter by color space, so you could have a setup like this if the PDF had a mix of color spaces. If you expand Gwen's screen capture you can see the fill is RGB.
