A tremendous amount of work went into decarbonizing InDesign CC. There's admittedly very little in the way of new features, though I suspect EPUB workers will be quite happy, but you can't put a roof on a house without first building a foundation.
The performance boost in InDesign CC alone makes it worth moving to.
