Re: Possible to set a background color on a single line of text?
I think what you are seeing is the default line color, which is (text color). That is where you chose your new color

Thanks, that worked. But it doesn't fill the entire width of the page, just where the text is. Also it would be nice to add some round corners on the headline background. I guess that's not possible...

You need to set the width of the rule to Column, not text width.

To fill the entire width of the page, you text box needs to be set to the full width of the page, or adjust the left and right indents to widen the rule. For the rounded rule, I just read about a neat...

Thanks, that worked! Still, there's no solution to rounded corner with this method I guess? Like this:Â Â Edit: Ok, thanks! The rounded corners trick was a nice one. It's not perfect because you can't...

Does anyone know of a way to set up a page view export preset. I want all my clients to view facing pages as 2up but I obviously can't manage their Acrobat preferences. Any insight would be...

The only thing I see is that the Kindle TOC is showing only one level. Somehow is missing the second level with the Chapter numbers. When you click on each paragraph style you can see a different level...

View ArticleRe: Using emoji in InDesign
The thought occurs: Type out the glyphs you want in TextEdit, scale them to a huge size, print that to PDF, and then import the PDF. Scaling them to 288 points seems to produce artifacting - so they're...

Right. There are two levels. "section heading' is at level 1 and the two types of chapters are on level 2. The level 2 paragragh styles are the ones that don't appear in the mobi version TOC but do...
View ArticleRe: Kindle plugin generates incomplete table of contents
Just for fun, try making them all level 1. I don't do epub or mobi, but for PDF the only time the levels matter is if you are sorting alphabetically.

Correct. Is there a way in Acrobat via another method to automate this process? No biggy for a PDF here and there but we have a high volume of requests and ends up being a time suck.

I was thinking actually the opposite of Peter's idea. Make a third level for the other chapter style. Maybe having two paragraph styles with the same level number is causing some confusion. Give it a...

Can't currently be set in ID, but it might be something scriptable in Acrobat on a folder level, perhaps.

I've tried changing the levels a number of ways, including reducing and adding levels as you suggest. The table of contents works fine in the InDesign file and the epub. The levels are right and they...

My thought was that the mobi plugin seems to recognize level 1 entries, so it would be worth trying tomake them all level 1 and see if they get recognized.

Can you post a screenshot of the Export to Kindle screen? Just want to see what it shows in terms of the TOC.
