Usually videos can be paused and restarted by pressing the spacebar, and/or by hovering the mouse pointer or clicking the video's on-screen area to display controls for forward, reverse, pause, etc. Sometimes there's a progress bar that you can click at a spot to display the video at that position. Sometimes, also, videos display the time within the video of what's on screen at that moment, in minutes and seconds, and also the total duration of the video. For anything you want to return to, you can write down times and make notes of the content, and later you can drag (aka "scrub") the timeline marker, or use fast-forward/reverse to return to that scene and replay it.
