The CS2 activation servers have been shut down, so your boxed copy and serial number are essentially useless at this point, but licensed users can download a new copy of CS2 applications that does not require activation if they find they need to reinstall. http://www.adobe.com/downloads/cs2_downloads/
You can also download a CS5 installer from Download Adobe CS5 Free Trials – All Direct Links without Akamai | ProDesignTools and activate it with your serial number, which you can retrieve from you account at the Adobe store online, if you registered the software as you should have. Not that you MUST FOLLOW the very important instructions on the page EXACTLY or the download will fail.
