If you family are all viewing the newsletter on computers (and not tablets) and if they all have Flash Player installed, then you could create a slide show and export as a SWF file. This would be viewable in a computer web browser.
It won't work on tablets (especially iPad) because there is no support for Flash. And, keep in mind, not everyone has Flash installed on their computer either.
