Re: Can someone explain why a 72dpi that went to print looked Great?

The image of the B-24 is a horizontal that sits in the middle of the page. Large border around the image. Nothing too exciting.

 

In the back of my mind I thought that it was something like what you guys are saying. I should of known this because back in the 90's I worked in pre- press. But I never had to deal with a 72dpi image that the client submitted to me. We pretty much scanned transparencies on a drum scanner. Boy, those were the days!

 

Bottom line. If you have a 72dpi image with a 4" x 5" dimensions, and you print it at the same dimensions, you're screwed! I know this but my friend does not. He will think you can get away with using 72dpi image regardless of what size you print them at… LOL! I feel a teaching moment coming on…
